‘King Of The Hill’ Revival Casts Ronny Chieng As Khan, Unveils Trailer

Comedian and The Daily Show correspondent Ronny Chieng has joined the Season 14 cast of Hulu‘s King of the Hill revival, taking over the voice of Khan Souphanousinphone. He replaces Toby Huss, who voiced the fan-favorite character on the show’s first 13 seasons. Huss takes over the role of the conspiracy-minded Dale Gribble, voiced by the late Johnny Hardwick.
Hulu announced in 2023 that Hardwick would return for the series’ streaming revival. He had not completed recording the new season at the time of his death.
Khan is Hank’s Laotian neighbor who lives with his wife Minh. Khan is arrogant and has maintained his superiority complex towards his Arlen neighbors. He is ultra-competitive and often butts heads with Hank as he attempts to “win” at life. He loves his daughter Connie, but tries to control her life and thinks she is too good to associate with Bobby Hill.
Hulu also unveiled a new trailer for the upcoming season, which picks up several years after we last saw the Hill family. After years working a propane job in Saudi Arabia to earn their retirement nest egg, Hank and Peggy Hill return to a changed Arlen, Texas to reconnect with old friends Dale, Boomhauer and Bill. Meanwhile, Bobby is living his dream as a chef in Dallas and enjoying his 20s with his former classmates Connie, Joseph and Chane.
Set in the fictional Arlen, Texas, the original series followed the life of Hank Hill, an enthusiastic seller of propane and propane accessories; his wife, Peggy, local Boggle champ and substitute teacher; and their son, Bobby, who defied any expectation his father had for a son. Hank’s friends – conspiracy theorist Dale, military barber Bill, and cool but inarticulate Boomhauer, along with Peggy’s friends Minh and meteorologist Nancy, and Bobby’s friend Connie helped the Hills navigate a changing world.
In addition to Chieng and Huss, the Season 14 cast includes Mike Judge, Kathy Najimy, Pamela Adlon, Johnny Hardwick, Stephen Root and Lauren Tom.
King of the Hill, from 20th Television Animation, is executive produced by original co-creators Mike Judge and Greg Daniels, as well as incoming executive producer and showrunner Saladin Patterson. Additionally, 3 Arts’ Michael Rotenberg and Howard Klein, and Bandera Entertainment’s Dustin Davis serve as executive producers.
The Emmy-winning series ran for 13 seasons with over 250 episodes on Fox and all seasons now stream on Hulu.
Season 14 of King of the Hill premieres Monday, August 4 on Hulu.
