- Mark Consuelos recounted an embarrassing moment on set when he forgot his lines.
- “I hadn’t been working. It had been a minute since I’d been on set,” Consuelos revealed.
- Guest cohost Rita Ora also said her “brain just completely melted” while shooting Descendants.
Mark Consuelos might have perfect movie star looks, but a temporary flub on the set of a shoot once made him feel a small crack in his Hollywood veneer.
The 54-year-old revealed on Wednesday’s episode of Live With Kelly & Mark that he once forgot his lines during a key acting shoot, which led to an “existential crisis.”
While discussing an appreciation for three-day weekends with guest cohost Rita Ora, Consuelos said that “as an actor, I wouldn’t necessarily get the Sunday Scaries, but, if you knew some big speech was coming up when you had to do a scene or you had to work nights,” that would send him over the edge.

“Something happened to me. I hadn’t been working. It had been a minute since I’d been on set and acting, and for me, learning lines is not a big deal. I can learn lines,” Consuelos recalled of a particular instance. “Then, I had a moment where it was a night shoot, so I was in my trailer from 5 p.m. until 1:30 a.m., just sitting there. At 1:30, they knock, and this little speech, I went on set, 100 extras.”
Though he didn’t specify the project, he said the scene involved “walking through a street,” which came simply enough, but when it came time to deliver the speech, he misstepped.
“I couldn’t remember bits and pieces. It’s like an existential crisis,” he admitted. “And if you’re the person that just comes in for a few days, you [already] feel like you’re not part of the team.”
Ora, a pop star who also judges The Masked Singer reality competition series, said that also she sometimes succumbs to mishaps like Consuelos’ while filming scripted projects, like her role in Disney’s Descendants films.
The 34-year-old recalled filming a ballroom scene for Descendants, which involved “a huge monologue” she had to deliver.
“I don’t know what happened. My brain just completely melted. I just froze,” she said. “And that’s the beauty of film, you can sort of do it again!”
The “Heat” singer filled in Wednesday on Live for usual cohost Kelly Ripa, who’s currently taking an annual break from her duties on the program for the remainder of the week.

Guest cohosts in Ripa’s absence this week were Jackie Tohn on Monday and Jenna Dewan on Tuesday.
“It’s so funny. Every time you get a new cohost, it’s like a little jolt of energy,” Ripa previously told Entertainment Weekly of considering retirement, ahead of Consuelos’ full-time debut as her Live cohost. “But to be clear, I am always thinking about retiring [laughs]. It is my favorite topic of discussion.”
