Mario Kart World Guide – The Ten Fastest Vehicles and How Unlocking Them Works

Although acceleration is king in Mario Kart World, eventually you will need speed in order to properly compete in races. The fastest cars are not necessarily those that are skewed heavily towards the speed stat, but can also be those that balance it with acceleration, as well as handling. Character stats can then potentially make up for any other deficiencies.
This guide is a listing of all the fastest vehicles in Mario Kart World and how to unlock them quickly.
Stellar Sled
This kart is pure speed, with the stat being the highest of all vehicles in the game and more than double its own acceleration. Handling is relatively controllable, and should help in holding drifts to rack up Mini Turbos and compensate for the relatively poor acceleration. The high weight makes this viable for aggressive driving.
Billdozer
Billdozer appears to have 50% more speed over acceleration, and the equally high weight stat can be effectively used to swipe aside opponents on the track. You will have to rely on drifting to accrue Mini Turbos to compensate for the low acceleration, and you will have to put in additional effort to maintain control due to the lower handling as well.
Big Horn
With stats matching that of Billdozer, Big Horn can compete neck and neck with it, sideswiping opponents while speeding along the track.
Roadster Royale
An exceptionally balanced vehicle with all stats hovering around the two bars or 50% mark. A balanced character would also be ideal for this, though you can swap to another depending on track conditions and playstyle.
Bowser Bruiser
With both speed and weight prioritized over acceleration and handling, you might think the Bowser Bruiser is a slouch on the track, but the stats of this ATV are best suited for off-track racing. You will have to possess exceptional control in order to compensate for that low handling, and rely on all the acceleration boosts you can to stay ahead.
Junkyard Hog
This tracked trike is actually an ATV class vehicle with a high speed and relatively high acceleration stat, but handling suffers for its configuration. Compensate with an appropriate character and you will dominate when offroad.
Lobster Roller
This reverse trike, with two wheels in the front and one in the back, combines high speed with above average handling. Acceleration is only a little below 50% and can be addressed with Mini Turbos that will be much easier to build up with the increased control.
Reel Racer
High speed combined with moderate acceleration and slightly better handling makes this a more than average contender for road racing. The weight allows for some good aggressive driving when the need calls for it.
Tiny Titan
The Tiny Titan suffers solely in the acceleration stat, while having high speed, handling, and weight. Pair with a high acceleration character and rely heavily on Mini Turbos to effectively leverage the stats of the vehicle.
W-Twin Chopper
The only pure two-wheeler with a high speed stat, while retaining the relatively high acceleration of the rest of the bike class. Handling is also lower for a bike, but not uncontrollable. This may be the best choice for bike racing as far as attaining maximum speed is concerned.
How To Unlock The Fastest Vehicles
Unfortunately, there is no method to unlock specific vehicles in Mario Kart World. Instead, you will have to grind away for 100 coins at a time in order to unlock a random vehicle from a pool of thirty, or 3000 coins in total for all of them.
On the plus side, this can be accomplished quite easily with several methods:
Farm Coins AFK
In Free Roam, head to Toad’s Factory in the central west of the map and scout the area for the conveyor belts that are carrying items and coins. Position your vehicle under where they drop and simply idle there. At the rate of 1 coin every 4-5 seconds, you will collect 12 coins per minute, or 720 coins per hour. Four odd hours of this should gain you every coin you could possibly need towards unlocking vehicles.
Coin Dispensing NPC Vehicles
There are two types of vehicles that spit out coins in Free Roam: those that have three coins trailing behind them, and a wind-up NPC vehicle that dispenses coins at a steady clip. The latter is extremely rare and if you do find one of these, be sure to grind out your coin farming then and there. The coins do not pop out in a straight line, so you will have to veer left and right in order to collect them, but you can expect to collect over a hundred coins per minute at the rate of about two coins dispensed per second.
The triple coin vehicles are much more common, and even appear on water. As you collect the three coins, more are spawned after a brief pause. You can casually follow this vehicle, as the coins spawn in a straight line trailing it, however you will have to accelerate to collect them, and then decelerate to avoid colliding with the vehicle and losing coins instead. It is also necessary to maintain some distance in order for the coins to spawn correctly.
Another method would be to gently veer left and right to collect the coins, thus always keeping the coin trail clear for spawning as well as avoiding the possibility of collisions.
These vehicles will also net you roughly one hundred coins per minute.
Those are the ten fastest vehicles in Mario Kart World and how to unlock them.
