- Mark Consuelos sensed trouble when he speculated that he’d have to “beat a mom” at Stump Mark.
- After he successfully defeated a mother on Live‘s Mother’s Day episode, the audience booed.
- “You know what? I don’t care! I’m back! It’s a game!” Consuelos shouted.
Mark Consuelos’ competitive nature knows no bounds — even when it comes to sparing a sweet suburban New York mother from his dominance on Live‘s Mother’s Day episode, of all things!
Consuelos sensed trouble ahead in the early-morning moments of the talk show’s Friday edition, which celebrated the beauty and strength of the world’s mothers ahead of Sunday’s official holiday.
“Okay, so, Gelman, so I have to beat a mom today?” Consuelos said, looking off-camera to the show’s producer before they segued into the daily Stump Mark segment, which sees a caller phoning in to see if Consuelos can determine which of their two provided statements is true and which one is false.
Friday’s victim was Laura Mallon, an adorably accented mama who admitted she was nervous to call in because she adored Consuelos and his cohost, wife Kelly Ripa, so much.
“If you rob this deserving mom of a mug and a T-shirt on Mother’s Day, you’re pretty much a monster,” Ripa told her husband before the game began.
The segment initiated with Mallon informing Consuelos of two things: One, that she and her sister-in-law each birthed children on their respective birthdays, and two, that she and her twin brother share a birthday with their own mother.
After 60 seconds of intense investigation, Consuelos correctly guessed that the former statement was true, robbing Mallon of her prize package that would’ve included a Live-branded mug and shirt.

After he triumphed, the Live studio audience softly booed the 54-year-old former All My Children actor, before the jeers grew louder and louder by the moment.
“Are you getting booed?” Mallon said over the phone.
Consuelos put his head in his hands, before turning toward the crowd to exclaim, “You know what? I don’t care! I’m back! It’s a game!”

The couple then transitioned into the second part of the game, which saw Mallon tasked with answering a trivia question about a past Live episode with a vacation package on the line — but, she lost that, too.
This isn’t the first time the Live audience turned on Consuelos; the star also defeated a firefighter during a round of Stump Mark in March 2024, leading the crowd to boo him back then, too.
