The event will feature a moving performance by the Inner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles and shine a spotlight on the winners of the annual essay contest, awarding two $5,000 scholarships in honor of Dr. Betty Price and Jheryl Busby.
A Rich Tradition of Honoring Black Women in Leadership
Founded in 1998, the First Ladies High Tea has grown into a signature gathering in the Black faith community. Known for blending elegance with purpose, it brings together clergy, civic leaders, and Hollywood names to honor women of impact and vision.

Why the First Ladies High Tea Still Matters
In a world where Black women are too often overlooked, the First Ladies High Tea is more than an event—it’s a declaration of worth and celebration. By honoring those who uplift communities, serve in silence, and lead with love, the tea remains a sacred space of recognition and renewal.
Past honorees include Vice President Kamala Harris, CeCe Winans, Yolanda Adams, Debbie Allen, Pat Harvey, and the legendary Cicely Tyson. This year’s event promises to continue that legacy with a message of faith, sisterhood, and Black excellence.
Tickets to the event are in high demand, and the 2025 celebration is shaping up to be one of the most unforgettable yet. From heartfelt speeches to powerhouse performances, the First Ladies High Tea continues to inspire, uplift, and honor the women who shape our world.
