*A judge has ruled that Megan Thee Stallion’s legal team can depose Tory Lanez as part of her defamation lawsuit against blogger Milagro “Gramz” Cooper.

Lanez (real name Daystar Peterson) is currently serving a 10-year sentence for a 2020 incident in which he allegedly shot at Megan’s feet during an argument. As we reported earlier, Megan’s lawyers accuse Cooper of spreading false information about the case on behalf of Lanez, citing financial records that show payments made from Lanez’s father to Cooper. According to TMZ, Lanez’s team denies any connection to these payments.

Megan’s lawyers argue that questioning Lanez is crucial to understanding Cooper’s actions and their connection. Per Vibe, in a new court filing, the attorneys said deposing Tory is “necessary for Ms. Pete to fully investigate the extent and basis of Defendant’s conduct and Defendant’s relationship with Mr. Peterson, in support of her claims.”

However, Lanez’s legal team has stated he will not participate in a deposition while incarcerated. The deposition is expected to take place remotely as Megan continues her legal battle against Cooper for defamation and cyberstalking.

“If you know Tory Lanez how I do, good luck trying to get him to ‘testify’ to anything, it’s just not what he does … and he definitely did not ‘agree’ to testify now,” expressed Ceasar McDowell, CEO of Unite the People the non-profit law firm assisting the incarcerated hip-hop star.

Earlier this year, Megan Thee Stallion (legal name Megan Pete) obtained a five-year civil restraining order against Lanez, barring him from contacting or harassing her in any way. She took legal action against Cooper in October 2024, claiming the blogger acted as an “online rumor mill churning out falsehoods about Ms. Pete to her tens of thousands of social media followers.”

The Grammy-winning rapper accuses Milagro of cyberstalking, spreading deepfake pornography of her, causing emotional distress.

“For years, you and other bloggers have acted on behalf of Mr. Peterson (aka Tory Lanez) as an online rumor mill churning out falsehoods about Ms. Pete to your tens of thousands of social media followers. You and other bloggers are a mouthpiece and puppet for Mr. Peterson, with a vendetta against Ms. Pete committed to tearing her down at all costs regardless of the truth,” Megan’s legal team stated in a letter to Cooper, per Vibe.

“It’s time to hold bloggers accountable for years of harassment, cyberbullying and the publication of misinformation about my personal and professional life,” added the Houston rapper.

Meanwhile, SandraRose.com reports that Milagro turned to social media to beg her followers for money to help pay her legal bills.

In a post on X on Tuesday (Feb. 25), Milagro wrote “I’m being sued. I need some money. Here goes the story & the link. tell everybody”

A message on her crowdfunding site states: “Like many from my generation, I have used the internet to build a community and speak to issues that are important to me. In doing so, I defended Tory Lanez against claims that he had committed a heinous crime. This decision has put a target on my back and mounting legal fees could result in a miscarriage of justice.”

Milagro’s followers questioned why she needed her legal bills paid when Unite The People previosuly announced they would cover her fees for free.

The trial against Cooper is slated to begin in July 2025.
