*Jonathan Majors may be working to get back on the public’s good side, but his comeback is getting a severe thumbs down from Black TikTok.
Sandra Rose cited two TikTokers who made their view on Majors known, going as far as to say the “Creed III” star is “playing in all our Black faces.”
“Let’s be for real, Jonathan Majors is on a sympathy Black media tour,” TicToker SincerelyMaxxDotcom expressed about the former Marvel Cinematic fixture’s press tour for his new movie “Magazine Dreams.” “It’s clear to me that he and his team are using who they think are Black, influential celebrities to gain support and help him get his career back.”
Unlike embattled stars like “Scandal’s” Columbus Short and “The Chi’s” Jason Mitchell, who went lowkey from the public to show they’ve learned their hard lesson after landing in negative waters, Sandra Rose notes SincerelyMaxxDotcom claims that Majors is mounting his comeback in a much shorter timeframe and doesn’t care how it affects those closest to him.
So much so that she labeled his efforts “suspicious” and “psychologically abusive” with him “mastering his craft of manipulation.”
The thumbs down from SincerelyMaxxDotcom comes amid Majors’ efforts to rebuild his public image while promoting “Magazine Dreams.” The film, which was released March 21, centers on Majors’ character, a socially awkward Autistic bodybuilder who “moves differently in the world.”
Despite the opposition to Majors, he has gotten support Sherri Shepherd after he appeared on her daytime talk show. The former “The View” co-host broke down in tears after watching an advanced screening of “Magazine Dreams.”
According to Sandra Rose, Shepherd’s emotional reaction stemmed from Majors’ character, Killian, reminding her of her special needs son, Jeffrey.
“So to see you portray this character — it touched my heart. So that’s why I cry because you so beautifully portrayed this man,” she told the entertainer.
Majors’ “sympathy Black media tour” isn’t the only thing catching blowback from Black TikTok. The former Marvel Cinematic Universe fixture is also getting negative feedback for what BonnetBusiness, another TikTok user believes is the manipulation of his new wife Meagan Good.
“Meagan Good we rescind our offer to acknowledge you as one of the “IT” girls,” BonnetBusiness said, with something more for Good to think about.
“Have you ever asked yourself why he didn’t look your way when he was at his prime? Why do y’all let men do that? Y’all let these men scoop you up and all of a sudden you his type because he’s at his lowest but when he’s at his prime — he never looked your way. Honey, it’s not about love,” she added.
