Jimmy Bartel, Nadia Bartel split: Why AFL star won’t comment on marriage breakdown | A Life of Greatness podcast with Sarah Grynberg
AFL star Jimmy Bartel has revealed why he will never talk publicly about the breakdown of his marriage with his ex-wife, influencer-turned-fashion designer Nadia Bartel.
Appearing on the A Life of Greatness podcast with Sarah Grynberg, the retired athlete, 41, admitted he never understood why his personal life was in the spotlight despite playing AFL.
”I’ve never commented on anything to do about my separation. I never will, because I just don’t think it’s needed. And so I just go about my business,” he said on the podcast.

When asked how he “navigated” his split while in the public eye, he said: ”I didn’t, really. I don’t see what’s so fascinating about myself.”
But it seems he’s taken the ‘water off a duck’s back’ approach.
‘’There’s nothing that I can do and say, and other people’s opinion of me is none of my business,” he said.

“And so they’ll form their own narrative, their own thinking or their own thought.”
”The only thing that matters to me is the people that I care about and I just foster those relationships and it can be tough at times.”
Jimmy is now in a relationship with Amelia Sheppard, and the pair share a child.

He and ex-wife Nadia, 40, announced their split in August 2019 and share two sons together.
They tied the knot in February 2014.
Nadia is now dating former semi-professional footballer Peter Dugmore.
