*During a recent episode of “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” an awkward exchange between host Jennifer Hudson and guest Eddie Murphy left fans buzzing on social media.

As Hello Magazine reports, the 43-year-old singer and talk show host welcomed the comedy legend to discuss his son Eric’s secret marriage to Jasmin, daughter of Martin Lawrence. However, Hudson’s persistent questions about a wedding that never happened sparked a wave of online criticism, with viewers calling out her listening skills.

Murphy, 63, explained that his son and Jasmin opted for a private ceremony, bypassing the grand wedding plans. “They went off. Everybody was making the big wedding plans, then they decided they wanted to do something quiet, with just the two of them, and they got married,” he shared, adding humorously, “Now Martin doesn’t have to pay for the big wedding now.”

Despite this, Hudson asked, “Are you going to sing at your son’s… Or is it your daughter’s wedding, right?” After Murphy clarified it was his son’s nuptials, she pressed again, “Did you sing at the wedding?”

“No, they didn’t have a wedding,” Murphy responded, explaining, “No, they went off and got married in the church. They just had the two of them and the preacher. They had a quiet little thing.”

Undeterred, Hudson asked if he would sing at a future wedding, to which he firmly replied, “Will I sing at the wedding? No, I ain’t singing.” Murphy noted a potential celebratory party might follow, but the couple had already tied the knot privately.

The exchange didn’t sit well with some viewers, who took to social media to express their frustration. One user wrote, “The man said they went off just the two of them went off and got married. She’s gonna then ask him, ‘Did you sing at the wedding.’ Baby, pay attention, omg.”

Another commented, “She asked him THREE times, ‘Are you going to sing?’ WOMAN THEY ARE ALREADY MARRIED MY GOD.” A third added, “She doesn’t listen to a single thing people say.”

Despite the criticism, Hudson’s talk show remains a hit. Earlier this year, Fox Television Studios renewed “The Jennifer Hudson Show” for a fourth season. Hudson tearfully celebrated the show’s 500th episode on May 7.

“This journey has been a blessing,” she told the audience. “To be able to reach 500 beautiful episodes full of celebration, great memories, and love throughout the audience, the staff, the crew, the guests. It’s a happy place, it’s been a very joyful time, that’s what it’s been.”
