Jennifer Aniston ‘Betting Her Reputation’ on ‘TMS’ Season 4 (EXCL)

Jennifer Aniston is promising big things for season 4 of The Morning Show once it’s eventually released – and a source exclusively tells In Touch she’s been working overtime with network execs and costar Reese Witherspoon to ensure it’s their most successful season yet.
“The Morning Show has been done filming for months now and Jen is being constantly questioned and texted by friends about when the actual episodes are coming out,” the insider says of the high-pressure situation. “The answer is, they’ll come out when they’re ready, even as this year’s Emmy eligibility calendar is set to run out in just a few months.”
As In Touch previously reported, Jen, 56, has been racking up win after win for her show. To date, TMS has been nominated for 27 Emmys with four wins. While accolades are a great reminder of the hard work put into the show, the source notes it’s not the main driver of Jen’s ambition. Rather, The Break-Up actress is out to prove she’s just as talented a producer as anyone else working in television today.
“Jen, Reese and their team know people miss TMS because the last season was by far the most popular and the show has real momentum with critics and the fans,” the insider adds, “but that’s not enough for either of them and they set out, from the beginning, to make Season 4 the show’s most ambitious yet, enlisting Oscar winners Marion Cotillard and Jeremy Irons to join the cast and using their pumped-up budget to film in interesting new locations.”

Rest assured, the source says season 4 is on the way, as “they’re editing the show now,” but the pressure of perfection has Jen “in particular sweating every detail and totally relishing her role as the show’s top creative decision-maker.”
Jen recently described the production process for this new season to People, saying, “Oh my gosh, it was hard. It was so hard, but it’s a great season.”
“It’s jam-packed, that’s for sure,” she added.
“They want to get this right and if they want another season, which they do, there isn’t room for even one weak episode,” the insider explains. “Jen and Reese fought like hell for the resources they got from Apple to produce season 4, and they want all of that money up there on the screen.”
The Morning Show has proven to be one of the most successful shows for its streaming network, which also boasts Ted Lasso and Severance, putting even more pressure for Jen and Reese to really knock this season out of the park.
“They know they are one of Apple TV’s three most popular shows and they don’t take that position lightly, especially because unlike the other two top series, TMS could run for years and years because of its soap opera-style structure.”
“It would be absolutely mortifying to Jen and Reese to release these episodes and have critics, or worse, audiences, greet them with a collective yawn. When the season finally drops, Reese and Jen are betting their reputations that it will deliver the goods.”
