Ghost of Yōtei Gameplay Deep Dive Set for July 10th

Sucker Punch Productions and Sony have confirmed that its next State of Play, a gameplay deep dive into Ghost of Yōtei, will take place on July 10th, 2 PM PT. Hosted by creative directors Jason Connell and Nate Fox, it offers “nearly” 20 minutes of gameplay.
We already know about protagonist Atsu’s mission to slay the Yōtei Six, who are responsible for killing her family. However, the State of Play will also highlight new weapons, new ways for players to “personalize” their journey, new “special modes,” and more. Of course, even with options like the kusarigama, odachi, firearms, and yari, the katana is still considered the “most valuable.”
We’ll likely learn more about other gameplay features, such as vegetable foraging, and how that feeds into the ability to camp anywhere in the world. Sucker Punch previously touted the open world as its biggest to date, but it also wants to give players more control over the story and avoid the genre’s monotony.
Ghost of Yōtei launches on October 2nd for PS5. Pre-orders are now available – check out the Collector’s Edition (and some brief new footage) here.
