Monday, June 9, marks the commencement of week five in the federal criminal trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs. As The Shade Room previously reported, Combs is facing a racketeering charge and two counts of sex trafficking. Additionally, he’s facing two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. If convicted, the 55-year-old could spend up to 15 years or life in prison.
Week four of the federal trial marked continued sharing of explosive testimony in the case. A former Intercontinental Hotel security guard testified to receiving $100,000 from Diddy. This was allegedly in exchange for March 5, 2016, surveillance footage from the hotel. The footage showed him assaulting his then-girlfriend, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, in one of the hotel’s hallways. Furthermore, a forensic video expert testified to the authenticity of the footage. Meanwhile, Bryana Bongolan, a former friend of Cassie’s, subsequently took the stand. Bongolan alleged Diddy hung her from the singer’s 17-story apartment in September 2016.
Ultimately, Diddy’s defense team poked major holes in Bongolan’s allegation. Furthermore, they dropped literal receipts, asserting that Diddy was traveling on the East Coast during the time of the attack alongside Cassie. Then, on Saturday, June 7, Diddy’s defense reportedly filed documents, making their second request for a mistrial, accusing Bongolan of sharing “materially false” testimony.

It is expected that Judge Subramanian will share a decision on the request sometime this week. Furthermore, as the trial resumes on Monday, June 9, “Jane Doe,” who alleges she dated Diddy between 2021 and 2024, is expected to continue her testimony about their idealic romance, which quickly turned into “dark,[and] sleazy” “hotel nights” with third parties.
It has been noted that “Jane” has been quite emotional while sharing her testimony on the stand. So far, she has recalled alleged coerced 12 to 24-hour hotel stints with Diddy, being financially dependent on the mogul, experiencing ailing sexual health, and being jealous of his affection for other women.
