Last month, there were rumours that the press wouldn’t get the Switch 2 for pre-release testing. Today, we have confirmation of this.
Video Games Chronicle has published a statement from a Nintendo spokesperson saying that the Switch 2 will not be sent to the press due to "important features and updates" that will be rolled out via a patch on June 5.
VGC added that Nintendo did not detail the contents of the patch or even explain why the media did not have the opportunity to test the launch games during events. After all, such gatherings had taken place prior to the release of previous consoles.
Thus, there will be no testing or media coverage of Switch 2 prior to launch.
