Sex and the City fans are in overdrive after And Just Like That producers teased a second cameo appearance by Kim Cattrall.
Stream on Max shared an Instagram post ahead of the next episode of reboot And Just Like That, which is due to drop in Australia in hours.
The photo shows Carrie, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, sending a text message to her long-lost friend Samantha Jones, played by Cattrall.

The image was shared along side a caption that included an eyeball emoji and the hashtag “AndJustLikeThat”.
“@justlikethatmax PRODUCTION PLEASE APOLOGIZE TO SAMANTHA AND BRING HER BACK, THE IMPACT WILL BE INSANE, WE ALL WANT SAMANTHA,” one fan commented.

“I CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS EPISODE,” another said.
“WE WANT HER. WE NEED HER,” one fan commented.
“The text we’ve been waiting for 👀,” another said.
“Wait is she coming back? I’d start watching the show again 😂,” one fan said.
“AHHHH!! Is this for tonight ?!!” said another.
“WHAT DOES THIS MEAN!?” one said.
“I CAN’T WAAAAAAAITTTTTTTT. OMG😢 THE ICON IS BACK?” another added.
Cattrall, 68, famously refused to join the new series amid reports of a falling out with co-star Parker.
The absence of her iconic character was explained in the first season of And Just Like That with Carrie lamenting the end of their friendship after she fired Samantha as her publicist.
It was explained that Samantha had moved to London following the fallout.
Carrie and Samantha were shown exchanging texts following the death of Carrie’s husband, and then later in the series when Carrie recalled on a podcast an intimate experience she and Samantha had shared.
For the second season, Cattrall filmed a scene showing her character trying to fly back to New York to help Carrie farewell her apartment.

Samantha rang Carrie and explained her flight had been delayed and she wouldn’t be able to make it.
The characters’ scenes were filmed separately, with no interaction between the actresses.
Cattrall has repeatedly ruled out a return to the franchise.

“This isn’t about more money, this is not about more scenes, it’s not about any of those things. This is about a clear decision, an empowered decision in my life to end one,” Hello! reports the actress as saying.
“I’m 61. It’s now. This is extenuating circumstances, and in the past I’ve felt, wow, especially with the fans, I don’t want to in any shape or form ruin an ideal of it, because it does stand for empowerment and it does stand for women sticking up for each other, but not always.”

After her cameo appearance in season two of And Just Like That, Cattrall told Today: “This is as far as I’m going to go. I don’t think I’ll ever say goodbye to Samantha.
“She’s like a lot of other characters that I’ve done over the years.
“I get very emotionally attached and protective of my characters. She gave me so much, and I’m so appreciative of her.”
