*Weight loss drug users should be more cautious when taking their item of choice, top medics warn. According to RadarOnline, 82 deaths occurred from drugs used to lose pounds, including Ozempic and Mounjaro.
Experts urge users to take the items only if they have been prescribed by doctors. Commenting on the warning, MHRA chief safety officer Dr Alison Cave acknowledged the importance of medical professionals when it comes to the necessity of any type of treatment for a particular condition.
“The decision to start, continue or stop treatments should be made jointly by patients and their doctor, based on full consideration of benefits and risks,” she told Radar.
A breakdown of the passings reveal 18 deaths were linked to Mounjaro – the brand name for tirzepatide as well as 29 more after taking Ozempic, Rybelsus or Wegovy (also known as semaglutide.).
The doctors’ warnings mark the latest in a series of situations involving the consumption of controversial weight loss drugs. The trend is especially prevalent among celebrities who have sported noticeably slimmer looks as of late.
