‘W.A.G.s to Riches’ Star Porsha Berto on Marriage in the Spotlight, and Breaking Stereotypes | EUR Video Exclusive
*Porsha Berto may be known as the wife of retired boxing champion Andre Berto, but in Netflix’s new hit series “W.A.G.s to Riches,” she’s proving she’s a powerhouse in her own right.
The show follows a dynamic group of women who are not just defined by their high-profile relationships but are forging their paths—balancing careers, motherhood, and the inevitable drama of their glamorous lives.
The cast includes NFL star Tyreek Hill’s wife Keeta Hill, Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson’s ex-fiancé Sharelle Rosado (who also starred in Netflix’s Selling Tampa), Rick Ross’ ex-wife Stoni Leviston, Kodak Black’s on-again, off-again girlfriend Mjae Johnson and more.

Reality TV often amplifies public scrutiny, so I asked Porsha how being on the show has impacted the way she navigates her marriage and life in the spotlight.
“For the first week, I was I was in the house. I was not wanting to go outside because…it was very overwhelming for people to have such a loud opinion about me having only seen so little of me on the show,” she explained, adding, “… the show is jam-packed full of drama. So you don’t get to see all of us in our personal nature as much as I would have liked but that’s the name of the game. So I think initially I was overwhelmed,” Berto said.
“Now it’s starting to settle down and I had to wrap my mind around the whole ‘everybody’s not going to like you.’ My husband says if you live by the cheers you’ll die by the boos. So just as much as I appreciate the support, I can’t hold on to it because there’s also people who who don’t like me,” she explained.
“I’m doing a lot of inner work and appreciating support … and also praising the Lord for the fact that for every negative comment I get, I make a sale in my business. So I suppose the show is doing what it’s supposed to do because I’m thriving in that sense.”
The WAG lifestyle is often glamorized, so I asked Porsha about one common misconception people have about it.
“I think that the misconception that people have about the wag lifestyle is that wags are in it for the money, the influence,” she said, calling that narrative “really tired.”
“It’s a lot of things that we have to do as women to support these men in their careers and it’s even harder after their careers because you take the sport away from the athlete and you see what you’re left with. A lot of them can’t handle it – that is very difficult for them to find themselves again,” Berto continued.
“I think a misconception is that you have no depth. They think you’re privileged and you have no problems or your man is probably horrible and he’s a cheater. No, that ain’t it. I’m very happy over here,” she added. “I think that’s the typical stuff they say about W.A.Gs. That’s the misconception.”
