I’m Raising My Sons To Be ‘Humble’, Can’t Wear Jordans –

Anthony Mackie may be one of the biggest stars in Hollywood, but when it comes to his personal life, he is making sure his four sons are raised far away from the glitz, glamour, and entitlement that often comes with it.

During an appearance on The Pivot podcast, the Captain America: Brave New World star opened up about his parenting philosophy, making it clear that his kids will not be living off of his Hollywood status.
Keeping His Kids Humble
Mackie, 46, emphasized that despite his success, he is not raising spoiled children.
“I keep my boys humble. Like my boys have never had a pair of Jordans. My boys don’t do all that internet fly stuff,” Mackie said. “I could be the biggest star in the world. Do not let me catch you being stupid.”
His approach is simple: No entitlement, no unnecessary luxuries, and no social media-driven lifestyle.
Big Brother Steps In
Mackie also revealed that his oldest son, 15, has taken on the role of enforcer in the household, making sure his younger brothers understand the rules.
“My oldest gets it — my 15-year-old. He tells the other ones, he’s like, ‘Yo, don’t make Dad mad.’”
Mackie knows that leading by example is key, and once one child understands the assignment, the rest tend to follow suit.

A Hollywood Star Who Refuses to Raise Hollywood Kids
While many celebrities embrace their children growing up in the public eye, Mackie is taking a very different approach. His focus is on instilling discipline, values, and humility, ensuring that his kids understand hard work over privilege.
In an era where celebrity children are often thrust into fame, Mackie’s decision to shield his sons from the spotlight is refreshing. They might not be rocking Jordans or living a social media-influenced lifestyle, but they are learning the most important lesson of all: Success should never be an excuse for entitlement.
