Each week, Big Brother host Julie Chen Moonves will weigh in on the latest events inside the house. This week, she reacts to being abducted by the Mastermind, Rachel Reilly’s return as the mystery houseguest, playing for the first Head of Household win, and the Secret Accomplice twist.
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Julie, I don’t even know where to begin. First of all, are you okay? Did the Mastermind harm you in any way?
JULIE CHEN MOONVES: Thankfully, I am fine. But he did make me break a nail! The nerve.

What exactly did you do to entertain yourself behind that door as you waited to be saved?
I spent my time finding different ways to balance my bare foot so it didn’t touch the floor.
Give us your take on Rachel’s return to the Big Brother house and how the other houseguests reacted to her entering the game?
Her return is epic. So unexpected. She’s a wife and mother of two now, and I didn’t think she’d have the time to do this again. I loved the Rachel chant when they saw her, but these houseguests are shrewd. They know this is not good for their game. She defied all odds with the whole house against her, no allies left, and won the game. She is a BB legend!

Some people wanted to be the first Head of Household and others most certainly did not. How would you want to play it as a contestant?
I liked hearing Katherine’s take that people are fake to the first HOH and it’s too early in the game to not see people for who they really are. That convinced me to lean towards NOT wanting it. In addition, who wants to make three enemies so early? It’s a lot of responsibility. As the old saying goes, heavy is the head that wears the crown.

Finally, do you think the players will uncover the identity of the Secret Accomplice and prevent that person from entering the game as the 17th houseguest?
I sure hope not. But seriously, I doubt it. They had enough on their plate and first day jitters. Plus, they’d didn’t know to even look for someone up to no good amongst them!
