Expedition 33 Sells 3.3 Million Copies in 33 Days

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 already obliterated expectations when it sold two million copies in less than two weeks of its release. However, Sandfall Interactive has since announced another impressive (and more unbelievable) milestone: 3.3 million copies sold in 33 days.
“Seriously. As of today. We couldn’t make that up,” the developer said on Twitter. The role-playing game sold 500,000 copies at launch and one million in just three days, that too despite launching in the shadow of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered. Its peak concurrent player counts on Steam even went on to surpass titles like Metaphor: ReFantazio, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, etc.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. It tells the story of the titular expedition, which embarks on a mission to slay the Paintress. Of course, things are not what they seem. Check out our review, where we gave it a nine out of ten. On Metacritic, it’s currently tied for highest-rated game of the year with Blue Prince.
