Brynn Whitfield on ‘RHONY’… “I Wanted It to Be Canceled” –

Brynn Whitfield is getting candid about her decision to walk away from The Real Housewives of New York City.

On a recent episode of her Please See Below podcast, the reality star reflected on what led to her departure from the Bravo reboot and revealed that she was already ready to say goodbye by the time the Season 15 reunion rolled around.

“I decided at the reunion that I wasn’t going to [come back]. I was like ‘This is too much,’” Brynn shared during the episode.

The RHONY alum admitted she wasn’t just thinking about quitting, she was secretly hoping the choice would be taken out of her hands. “I was hoping that they would either fire me, or I was hoping they would cancel the show,” she said.

According to Brynn, it was fellow Bravolebrity Paige DeSorbo’s exit from Summer House that ultimately gave her the clarity she needed. “Paige announced her [exit from Summer House] and I read her thing and I got a little peanut butter and jealous. I was like, ‘I want that,’” she confessed.

Brynn joined the show reboot in Season 14, quickly distinguishing herself as the only cast member with a traditional 9-to-5 job. Season 15 was marked by rising tensions with castmate Ubah Hassan, who implied Brynn used sex to advance her reality TV career, a claim Brynn firmly denied, especially after sharing her experience of surviving a traumatic sexual assault.

It was later determined that Ubah was not aware of the assault.

She also faced criticism from other Housewives, including Jenna Lyons, who occasionally questioned her honesty.
