Arrowhead Game Studios was founded back in 2008 and made a name for itself last year with the release of the excellent Helldivers 2. The Swedish company is now known worldwide, and investors have quite logically come forward.
Although the news has gone unnoticed until now, we now learn that Tencent bought a 15.75% stake in Arrowhead in July 2024. The transaction amounted to 72.7 million euros. The company’s capital is valued at around 465.8 million euros.
Johan Pilestedt, the studio’s creative director and co-founder, said that Tencent’s investment would provide Arrowhead with greater opportunities in the Chinese market.
Sales of Helldivers 2 have exceeded 15 million units.
