A Wooden Raft will always be visible on the map once you’ve placed it.

How to Get a Boat in Len’s Island

Here’s how to get a boat in Len’s Island: you’ll have to establish a base and build a Work Bench. You must then upgrade the Work Bench to Level 2. It isn’t too difficult, but you’ll have to do a little exploring to get everything.

Once you’ve begun a new game, you’ll want to build a simple base and place a Work Bench, Bed, and Campfire inside. You’ll need to collect Wood, Fibers, Stone, and Clay to build everything you need.

Your next step is to upgrade the Work Bench to Level 2 which requires 40 Wood, 10 Fibers, and 2 Salvaged Metal.

You’ll need Wood, Fibers, and Salvaged Metal to upgrade the Work Bench.

Wood and Fiber are easy enough to get. Salvaged Metal, however, can only be found in specific locations. Run around the coast of the starting island and look for barrels.

When you find a barrel, all you need to do is attack it with a weapon or tool to smash it and get all of the loot inside.

Barrels have one of the key items you need to unlock the boat.

Barrels have a chance to drop Salvaged Metal. You’ll only need 2 Salvaged Metal to upgrade the Work Bench, so you probably won’t have to search for too many of them to get enough.

When you have enough Salvaged Metal, you can then interact with the Work Bench and upgrade it to Level 2 to unlock the Wooden Raft along with several other crafting recipes.

Once the Wooden Raft is unlocked, you can simply head to any body of water and build it like any other structure; a Wooden Raft only requires 30 Wood and 15 Fibers. If you don’t need a Wooden Raft anymore, you can also dismantle it like any other structure to recover the crafting materials.

Wooden Rafts give you safe passage over water and protect you from Shark Attacks. Your boat will also always be visible on the map, and you can have multiple boats if you feel the need (or if you simply need another boat to get back to another island where you died).

However, Wooden Rafts won’t protect you from environmental hazards. If you head out too far away from the center, you’ll encounter a cold debuff and you’ll slowly start losing health until you reach warmer waters.

Finally, it’s important to note that you should not attempt to swim long distances between islands — Sharks will attack and kill you fairly quickly once you get far enough out into the ocean. You’ll definitely want a Wooden Raft if you want to explore the map.
