Honor of Kings: World releases new trailer for GDC 2025

- Honor of Kings: World has unveiled a brand new trailer at GDC 2025
- It includes a look at the flashy combat and grandiose scale of the story
- Could this be what pushes Honor of Kings to dominant status as a MOBA franchise?
While for most of us, the focus of today is probably on the upcoming weekend, the warming weather and what we’re eating tonight, a world away at GDC 2025 there’s bigger news swirling. Not least the fact that Tencent’s upcoming open-world RPG spin-off of their hit MOBA Honor of Kings: World has unleashed a brand-new trailer!
Honor of Kings hit storefronts worldwide as part of a flurry of new releases by a variety of Chinese gaming giants like Tencent and NetEase; and since then it seems the company has been intent on making its mark with this IP, which has been monumentally successful in their home country of China.
Be it helping to organise big-money tournaments or securing an appearance for Honor of Kings in Amazon’s Secret Level anthology show, Honor of Kings has become one to watch for players of all stripes. And the newest trailer for Honor of Kings: World shows off flashy action and breathtaking graphics in equal measure.

Now, it’d be silly to suggest that Tencent are actively looking to saw the legs off their chief competitor League of Legends (especially considering they have a big stake in them) but it’s not hard to see that Honor of Kings: World is well on its way to standing next to this iconic MOBA on a world stage in terms of overall pop-culture influence.
Of whether or not Honor of Kings: World is going to be a major success in countries where Honor of Kings is already super popular, I’ve no doubt. But the question of whether the wider gaming public adopts it will decide just how popular it gets, but with the flashy combat, graphics and grand scale of the story, it has a very good chance.
