‘Revenge’ Star Henry Czerny Boards Crave’s ‘Bon Cop, Bad Cop’

Revenge and Mission Impossible star Henry Czerny has joined the cast of Crave’s bilingual drama series Bon Cop, Bad Cop in a lead role. Currently in production in Quebec, Canada, the show has also added Joshua Odjick, Christine Beaulieu, Nathaniel Arcand, Robin Joël Cool and Antoine Vézina to the cast. The series, shot in English and French, is set to debut on streamer Crave in 2026. It will star Patrick Huard and Czerny as officers who team up for an investigation that takes them across Canada after the band chief of an Indigenous community disappears. Several other equally unorthodox cops join them on the search. Jessie Films and PaNik Fictions are making the show in collaboration with Bell. Huard is the head screenwriter and among the directors.

‘The Crown’ Producer Michael Casey Joins Orchid Pictures

The Crown producer Michael Casey and The Day of the Jackal commissioner Gabriel Silver are heading to Suzanne Mackie’s Orchid Pictures as MD and Executive Producer respectively. Casey re-teams with Mackie, with whom he worked on Netflix royal smash The Crown for years. Silver joins from Tiger Aspect, and prior to this role he commissioned Sky hit The Day of the Jackal. Casey will lead the day-to-day management of the company alongside Mackie, following a 16-year tenure at Left Bank Pictures where he latterly served as board member. Silver will develop projects. His past credits also include Chernobyl, Gangs of London and I Hate Suzie. Launched in 2020, Orchid is currently in pre-production on the next project from The Crown creator Peter Morgan. Mackie said: “Orchid Pictures is built on an ethos of offering a home for the very best writing and creative talent, and we’re now assembling a top-class editorial and production team to take the company forward. After an intense and fruitful development period, with our brilliant producers Hannah and Sophie, it’s wonderful to feel that now is the right time for us to grow.

‘Hot Ones‘ Heading To Germany

Hot Ones is heading to Germany. The internationally-renowned YouTube series, in which celebrities face hot and spicy interviews while eating spicy wings, will launch on YouTube later this afternoon. Each episode will be hosted by celebrated live comedian EMMVEE, while Uber Eats is a main sponsor. The show comes from Tresor Productions, the German unscripted production company owned by Keshet International. Featuring the likes of Cardi B, Florence Pugh and Paul Rudd, the American version has gained worldwide acclaim and the brand’s creator was recently sold to a group of investors for $82.5M. Axel Kühn, Managing Director at Tresor Productions, said: “Hot Ones has always been a special format to us. The seemingly simple idea of eating insanely spicy chicken wings during an interview has taken celebrity conversations to a whole new level. We’re proud to be producing the German version exclusively for YouTube – together with Endgame Entertainment and inSocial Media.” 

MIPJunior Sets New Structure

MIPJunior will move into the main Palais des Festivals building for MIPCOM Cannes in October, as part of a new format. Gare Maritime, which sits opposite, will be a matchmaking and dealmaking space. Lucy Smith, Director of MIPCOM Cannes and MIPJunior called it a “makeover with a mission” geared towards “helping companies adapt and tap into innovative thinking, strategies and programmes.” In further MIPJunior news, YouTuber Kevin Tran’s manga book adaptation for Canal+, Ki&Hi in the Panda Kingdom, which comes from Mediawan Kids & Family’s Mathod Animation, will have a world premiere at the Palais on Saturday October 11. MIPJunior is held on October 11-12, directly before MIPCOM Cannes begins on the Monday.
