*As Sean “Diddy” Combs faces serious federal charges in his ongoing sex trafficking trial, Judge Greg Mathis and his son Amir are weighing in on both the legal and personal aspects of the case.

As Vibe reports, in an episode of The Mathis Verdict, Amir explained, “The prosecution needs to show more evidence that deliberately shows that he was intentionally sex trafficking for them to be successful.” Judge Mathis agreed, noting that prosecutors need to demonstrate Diddy was fully aware of the seriousness of his actions and deliberately chose to proceed.

Amir raised a question about the distinction between personal lifestyle and criminal conduct: “Where is the line between a criminal act of intent and where’s the line for someone’s lifestyle?” He also said prosecutors hadn’t yet proven Diddy was running a criminal enterprise, pointing out that the “freak-offs” seemed like isolated events.

Mathis responded, “I do believe, I trust that these prosecutors are astute enough to be able to lay a foundation, and I assume that’s what they’re doing. And they’re gonna then connect everything that has come out thus far to demonstrate their charges of RICO. That’s what I assume is going to happen, but it hasn’t happened yet! And some of these things didn’t require coordination.”

In a more candid moment, the judge didn’t hold back: “He’s much worse than a toxic person, he’s a monster from what they’ve been showing and what we’ve been hearing […] He’s a state crime monster.”

Mathis also commented on Diddy’s alleged gangster persona: “He has a temper, and he’s known for that, and people are in fear because of his temper. But street guys don’t fear him cause they know he’s never been in the street.”

Mathis explained that Diddy adopted a gangster persona to gain the respect of Notorious B.I.G. and others, eventually internalizing this identity. However, Mathis noted that as the president of a record company, Diddy was considered a “square” and not truly part of the street crowd, who wouldn’t want him hanging out with them.

Amir concluded: “When you fully start embodying that, with more time, you become that person. Just like a person who tells a lie so many times, they start believing that lie. And so I no doubt believe that he believes that he is a gangster.”
