Drink Dew Drops

Water is a precious resource in Brookhollow Park. There are plenty of ponds you can gulp dirty water from, but fresh water is harder to find. There is a water pipe near the Snackbar Ranger Station, but it doesn’t always drip enough drops to sate your thirst.

Grass is a great dew collector. You want to find stalks with a drop at the end and hit that piece of grass. The dew will fall, allowing you to drink it. Depending on where the drop falls, you may need to chase it a bit. If the stalk is close enough, you can slurp it right there. It’s best to search for dew first thing in the morning before the sun can burn them away.

You want to be careful near ponds, though. If there’s a hill the dew could roll right into the water and be lost to you.

Build Lean-Tos

Lean-tos act as your respawn point in Grounded 2. When built, interact with it as if you’re going to sleep. You’ll have the option to set the that structure as your respawn. This is great to do when heading into new areas, exploring anthills, or getting attacked by O.R.C. waves.

Having a close respawn means less time running around the park to retrieve your items and getting to new regions faster. You don’t need to build a full base at each point, all you need is the Lean-to.

Use Trail Markers

As you adventure you’ll find points that you can’t access yet. Whether its a tunnel blocked by roots, buried treasure, or cracked wall, you’ll want to remember where they are. You can only place one point on the map, however.

Instead you want to use Trail Markers. These are found in the build radial menu and can be placed anywhere. There are a variety of colors and icons to signify what the marker means. They are always seen when you look around you and show up on the map.

Trail Markers ensure you won’t lose any interesting areas you want to explore later.

Always Ride Your Buggy

Your Soldier Ant isn’t just a useful mount, it can enlist the help of a Worker Ant. During combat, they’ll both attack aggressive bugs in the vicinity. The key here is getting off your buggy instead of attacking while on it. You do more damage and both ants will act as targets and damage soaks.

Your buggy won’t ever die, but any worker ants will. Instead, if you can’t revive the soldier ant in time, it’ll poof back to the ant nest to heal. This makes your buggy a strong ally in battle.

That’s on top of having its own inventory, being able to gather items on its own, and haul 12 grass planks or weed stems.
