Nowadays, it may seem unthinkable that there was a time when mobile wasn’t everywhere. But some of the big promotional events would have stunned us a mere five or so years ago, with top properties plastered everywhere. Such as the case with Shift Up’s third-person gacha shooter, Goddess of Victory: Nikke!
Fans of Goddess of Victory: Nikke, and baseball, who were lucky enough to attend the Padres Vs Dodgers at Petco Park on June 10th, would have been treated to the appearance of popular streamer and cosplayer Emiru. Dressed as the ever-popular Rapi, Emiru delivered the customary first pitch at Petco Park while promoting Nikke.
Naturally, this appearance coincided with Goddess of Victory: Nikke’s recent baseball-themed update, which featured Noir and Blanc donning new costumes. It also presents a rather interesting mixture of real-life sports and mobile hits coming together.
Hey batter batter
While there were doubtless many confused baseball fans who hadn’t even heard of Goddess of Victory: Nikke before, they doubtless left pleased, considering that attendees were also treated to giveaways of merchandise, including exclusive baseball cards and a themed t-shirt. Fans could also attend meet-and-greets with cosplayers to get to meet their favourite characters face to face.
It represents yet another effort on the part of the folks behind Nikke to get the hit gacha shooter out and about with fans. The upcoming Stellar Blade collab (set to go live as of the time of writing), for example, coincides with an appearance at Anime Expo 2025!
