German backpacker Carolina Wilga believed to have been found alive after major search in WA’s outback

Police have found a woman in their search for a backpacker missing backpacker in WA’s remote Wheatbelt.

Officers believe the woman is missing German national Carolina Wilga, but authorities are right now working to confirm her identity.

7NEWS understands a stranger found her walking along a bushtrack.

Police found the 26-year-old’s broken down van at the bottom of a rocky outcrop on Thursday, more than 300km north-east of Perth.

She had been missing for 12 days.
