Four people arrested after man in his 20s killed in tragic M40 crash

Four more arrests have been made after a tragic motorway crash that killed a 27-year-old man.
Police made one arrest on Saturday and issued an appeal for four people, who were in a blue Mercedes AMG C250 but left the M40 crash site on foot.
The driver of a black Volkswagen Golf, a 27-year-old man from High Wycombe, died of his injuries following the incident at around 1.15am on Saturday.
His passenger, also a man in his twenties, suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries and was rushed to hospital.
The collision, which happened on the northbound carriageway in Buckinghamshire, led to a closure between junction 1A for the M25 (Denham Interchange) and junction two for Beaconsfield.
Thames Valley Police said a 26-year-old man, from Farnham Royal, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place.
In an update released on Sunday, the force said he has been bailed in relation to the driving offences, but has been charged and remanded in relation to the possession of a knife blade. He is due to appear at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Police also said that four further arrests have now been made.
A 22-year-old woman, from Beaconsfield, and a 21-year-old woman, from Northolt in Ealing, were arrested on Saturday on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
A 23-year old man, from Uxbridge, and a 26-year-old man, from Beaconsfield, were also arrested on Saturday on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified drug above the specified limit.
The force said the 23-year-old man remained in police custody, while the other three have been released on police bail.
It added that the family of the 27-year-old who died in the collision are being supported by specially trained officers.
Ambulances and fire crews attended the scene of the crash on Saturday, and a diversion was put in place. The Denham interchange is used by drivers travelling to London Heathrow Airport and travellers were warned of possible delays. The stretch of road was opened almost 12 hours after the crash, at 12.30pm.
Police are still appealing to the public for any information that could help with their investigation.
Detective Sergeant Edward Crofts of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “We are continuing to investigate the circumstances of this tragic collision and have now made five arrests in total.
“This is a complex investigation following a fatality. I would urge the public not to speculate on the circumstances or share footage on social media. Please pass any information to the investigation team.
