Pokémon Go will test your battle skills in the Sparring Partners Raid Day later this week

While you wait for the debut of Tinkatink, fighting-types are ready to throw down as Sparring Partners Raid Day charges into Pokémon Go on April 13th. From 2:00 to 5:00 pm local time, you’ll have a tight three-hour window to flex your battle skills, chase Shiny encounters, and spar with some of the toughest brawlers this side of the Pokéworld.
Pokémon Go’s Sparring Partners Raid Day kicks off with Mega Heracross, buzzing into Mega Raids with power. Don’t count out Hariyama and Scraggy either, as both will muscle their way into regular raids during the event, with boosted Shiny odds. It’s a Fighting-type frenzy, and you’ll want to bring your best counters into the ring.
But it’s not just about the raids. This event also introduces a new Charged Attack, Upper Hand, which lets featured Pokémon deal 70 power in Trainer Battles and potentially lower your opponent’s Defence. In raids and gyms, it delivers a clean 50-power strike. It’s a solid move that might just give you the edge in your next matchup.
Carrying you further are the bonuses. You’ll be able to collect up to six free Raid Passes just by spinning Gym Photo Discs, and for one weekend only, the Remote Raid Pass limit rises to 20, giving you more chances than ever to throw hands from afar.
