Even though it has just been released on PlayStation, Xbox and PC, Elden Ring Nightreign already looks set to be a huge commercial success. At least, that’s what the first data gathered by SteamDB suggests.
At the time of writing, FromSoftware’s title has peaked at 313,593 concurrent players on Steam. This is already more than other FromSoftware titles such as Sekiro (125,315), Dark Souls 3 (129,975) and Armored Core VI (156,171). Elden Ring remains far ahead for the time being, with 953,426 concurrent users.
However, Steam ratings for Elden Ring Nightreign are only average, with 67% positive reviews out of the almost 6,300 published. Players are pointing the finger at excessive difficulty in single-player, a lack of innovation compared to the original game, and even a too-limited skill tree.
