‘Survivor 48’ exclusive deleted scene shows a new alliance rising

Kamilla Karthigesu and Kyle Fraser completely pulled one over on their new Vula tribe mates last week on Survivor 48 by pretending to be adversaries when they’re actually allies. But on this week’s episode of the reality competition series, the two were shown bonding with their competitors, Shauhin Davari and Joe Hunter, and seemingly making a plan to join forces heading into the merge if they could all make it that far. But was it real?

According to an exclusive deleted scene from the episode, it certainly seems so. In the scene from day 11, which can be watched above, we see the Vula foursome receiving a Tree Mail message about that day’s upcoming immunity challenge. “You’re going to have to pull your weight and you’ll still get upbraided by your friends,” reads Shauhin from the parchment. “One slip today and you’ll fall off track. Tonight, another adventure ends.”

The tribe then tries to decipher the meaning behind the clues, but what’s more interesting is the confessional interview with Kamilla, in which she discusses the upcoming contest and why victory is so essential. “This is the most important immunity challenge of this game so far,” she explains. “Because there’s only four of us. There are only four votes going out tonight, and they’re even.”

But it’s not just the danger of a split vote that has Kamilla worried. It seems she genuinely has grown close to Shauhin and Joe and does not want to have to put their names down. “They’re all four people that we each want to work with,” she continues. “None of us want to be at Tribal. None of us want to send each other home. This is by far the most important challenge in this game.”

Sensing a merge right around the corner, Kamilla considers this last tribal immunity contest to be truly key. “If we can get through today, the four of us have a clear path together, but if we lose tonight, we’re probably just going to go to rocks and one of us is going to get sent home. We all like each other too much.”

And that sudden connection has surprised even Kamilla. “Two nights ago, I was so upset with them, I was like, ‘Why are you blaming me? You guys should have split the vote.’ And I was like, ‘Why is Joe taking it so personally?’ And now, 48 hours later, I love them more than the Civa people. It’s going to be rough.”

Perhaps it was that urgency that would spur Vula on to first place in the challenge they so desperately feared.
