Dune: Awakening players may rent private servers

Dune: Awakening players may rent private servers

Funcom’s MMORPG premieres this Thursday, June 5, and will be available to all purchasers from June 10. But before its launch, Dune: Awakening has added a rather welcome feature.

Private servers will be available to rent from the moment the title is released. Initially, this feature was due to be rolled out later, but the developers have declared that "progress has went faster than expected".

A private server contains the complete map of the Hagga Basin, with all the activities present on the official servers. Each server is part of a world that includes other servers. Funcom explains all this in detail in its message published on Steam.

"That means that you will still be able to take full advantage of Dune: Awakening’s large-scale multiplayer content and mechanics, including visiting the social hubs and the Deep Desert, to meet and play with people from any private server in the same World."

"Players do not rent or control social hubs nor the Deep Desert. These are provided by the server hosting company, who ensures each private server’s World has them."

Added to this is the fact that during a game, it will be possible to go to another server, whether in the official or private version. The player will then automatically land at the Griffin’s Reach Tradepost.

To rent a server, go to GPORTAL, Nitrado or xREALM.
