The first reviews for DOOM: The Dark Ages are in. The game will be released on May 15 on PS5, Xbox Series and PC, though those who have bought the Premium Edition will be able to play the game from May 13.
On OpenCritic, id Software’s FPS currently has an average score of 86% (85 tests). On Metacritic, the score is 86% on PC (49 reviews), 84% on PS5 (47 reviews) and 87% on Xbox Series X (21 reviews).
On the positives, we have that the the action is fluid and enjoyable, the campaign is well-paced, the art direction is well executed, the soundtrack is masterful and the game is accessible to newcomers.
On the negative side, the mecha and dragon-riding sequences end up being repetitive, the graphics not always sharp,there’s a few bugs and the skill tree feels watered down.
