DomiNations celebrates its 10th anniversary with new updates, features and events

Big Huge Games is set to celebrate the tenth anniversary of its hit mobile strategy DomiNations with a series of events, content updates and new gameplay features. So, what’s in store, and what additions are being made to mark the beginning of DomiNation’s second decade?

Well, for starters there’s of course a bevvy of limited-time rewards and aforementioned events that’ll be spaced out over the course of the year. But mechanics-wise there’s the new Commanders feature that offers enhanced leadership mechanics, new Detachment troop deployments and various system improvements, including to the Tournament of Glory.

But it’s not just on mobile that you’ll be seeing enhancements as a long-time DomiNations player. Keep an eye out for the expansion of browser-based gameplay and new player features on DomiNations World. Finally, there are community campaigns and other interactive content to mark the tenth anniversary.

Detached

While DomiNations may be showing its age in some places, such as graphics, the additions of the new Commanders feature and Detachments will likely keep it fresh for many longtime players. I think it’s also a reminder of just how well-established many of the longtime entities that dominate mobile gaming nowadays are.

After all, it may be easy to think of Supercell as a virtually immortal emperor of the mobile world, but I think that begets the fact that we have so many other longtime developers such as Big Huge Games that have been sticking around for so long.
