Toni Braxton Tops Reggae Sumfest 2025 Bill in Montego Bay

*Sixteen years after she last graced a Reggae Sumfest stage, Toni Braxton is booked to close Jamaica’s biggest music festival with that unmistakable contralto. Organiser Downsound Entertainment confirmed the seven-time Grammy winner for Festival Night 2 (Saturday, 19 July 2025) at Catherine Hall Stadium in Montego Bay.
As the Jamaica Observer reports, the press statement promises a set stacked with evergreen hits such as “Un-Break My Heart,” “He Wasn’t Man Enough,” and “Breathe Again,” adding, “Fans can expect a soulful, emotionally charged performance that resonates across generations.” Braxton joins a Saturday lineup featuring reggae torch-bearers Tarrus Riley, Protoje, and Lila Iké.
Reggae Sumfest has grown into Jamaica’s marquee live-music event since launching in 1993. Each July, it transforms Montego Bay into a magnet for globetrotting fans eager for dancehall’s cutting-edge energy, reggae’s rootsy pulse, and a scattering of international stars. Alongside the nightly shows, patrons can sample jerk stalls, artisan markets, and a vibe that locals like to call “yaad niceness.”
All core events unfold at or around Catherine Hall, with the city’s waterfront Pier 1 hosting the lone off-site party. This year’s festivities begin with the Sumfest Family FunDay on Sunday, July 13, at Catherine Hall from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The energy continues on Monday, July 14, with the All-White Party at Montego Bay’s Pier 1. On Tuesday, July 15, Sumfest returns to Catherine Hall for the popular Street Dance, followed by the Global Sound Clash on Wednesday, July 16. The week rounds out with the Rumfest Blitz on Thursday, July 17, before the main events, Festival Nights 1 and 2, on Friday, July 18, and Saturday, July 19.
Catherine Hall Stadium sits in the western parish of St James, just minutes from Sangster International Airport and Montego Bay’s famed Hip Strip. The open-air venue’s coastal breezes and tiered sight lines make it a favourite stop for touring artists—and an ideal arena for Braxton’s first Jamaican appearance since 2009.

According to reports, visitors can bundle show tickets with hotel packages; most major resorts run late-night shuttles to and from the stadium.
Whether you’re lining up for pepper shrimp, scouting artisan straw hats or belting out ’90s R&B classics under the stars, Reggae Sumfest 2025 looks primed to deliver its trademark fusion of island culture and world-class music.
