Anna Camp defends 18-year age gap with girlfriend Jade Whipkey

Anna Camp is shutting down the age gap discourse surrounding her new relationship.

After making her red carpet debut with girlfriend Jade Whipkey at the premiere of her new movie Bride Hard, Camp took to Instagram to clap back at those fixating on their ages. The actress made her feelings known by commenting on a post from Pink News that showcased the couple posing for photographers, while also highlighting their 18-year age gap.

“Thought I’d jump on here since I follow @pinknews and just say I’ve dated men exactly my age and Jade is FAR more mature than any of them,” Camp, 42, commented under the Friday post.

She added of herself and Whipkey, 24, “We have more in common than anyone else I’ve ever dated and can literally talk about anything and everything. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I’m wishing everyone well 🙂 Especially this Pride month.”

For her new film Bride Hard, Camp reunited with her Pitch Perfect pal Rebel Wilson. While celebrating the film in a separate social media post, Camp made sure to shoutout her girlfriend for accompanying her to the premiere.

“Thankyou @rebelwilson for being my bride or die,” Camp wrote. “And to my girlfriend @jadewhipkey for being my date and for making me glow.”

Camp’s comments come a month after the Pitch Perfect alum made her romance with Whipkey, an on-set stylist, Instagram official. The couple first sparked romance rumors earlier this year, when fans took notice of their sweet social media interactions.

In May, Whipkey shared a photo of Camp in a restaurant with the caption, “Her smile is a poem/Her eyes are roses/Her laugh is music for dancing.”

Camp was previously married to actor Michael Mosley (Scrubs, Ozark) from 2010 to 2013. She later married her Pitch Perfect costar Skylar Astin in 2016, but the couple ultimately divorced in 2019.

Camp and her Bride Hard costar Wilson — who last year wed fashion and jewelry designer Ramona Arguma — recently spoke to GLAAD about their reunion and newfound community after making their respective relationships public.

“There is such a strong community that I’ve now just recently been discovering, and I just feel so welcomed,” Camp said. “I’ve been going through my own transformational time in my life, and I’ve just been so lucky to have friends who I can ask questions to.”

Added Wilson, “We met a 13 year old girl who came up to us and said that we inspired her by coming out on Instagram… She felt less alone.”

Bride Hard is playing in theaters now.
