Did You See Him? Lamar Jackson Makes Acting Debut as Deadly Hitman in ‘Raising Kanan’ | WATCH

Lamar Jackson’s Surprise Role as E-Tone in ‘Raising Kanan’
*Yesterday (05-09-25), Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson made his acting debut in the Starz series “Power Book III: Raising Kanan.” He appeared in the penultimate episode of Season 4, portraying E-Tone, a “deadly, dangerous” hitman working under Unique, played by rapper Joey Bada$$.
Jackson’s character stunned viewers with a violent scene where he kills David Kan in a nightclub bathroom. His performance brought unexpected intensity, expanding his public persona far beyond football. Jackson, a two-time NFL MVP, proved he could handle a gritty, dramatic role with ease, CBS Sports via MSN News is reporting.
From NFL MVP to On-Screen Hitman: Jackson’s Acting Debut
Jackson has been a fan of ‘Raising Kanan’ since 2023 and tweeted his dream of landing a cameo. That dream came true when showrunner Sascha Penn offered him the role earlier this year. Jackson said he was “thrilled” to join the cast and hoped fans would understand it’s all in good fun, noting, “It’s just acting, it’s fun.”
He admitted being shocked when he learned he’d be playing a killer. He only found out the full scope of the role after arriving on set. Jackson told People magazine, “I’m around Joey Bada$$ and these guys, I don’t want to mess up the line and have those guys redoing it. They’ve been here, they’re professional, that’s their job. I just didn’t want to mess up and have them redo it. And I don’t think I really did, to be honest.”
Teammates, Fans, and 50 Cent React to Jackson’s Performance
Reactions to Jackson’s performance were mixed but passionate. Some fans on social media praised his presence and confidence, while others questioned if acting might distract him from football. Still, Jackson’s teammates rallied around him, jokingly calling him “E-Tone” in the locker room.

Even executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson noticed. After the episode aired, he sent Lamar a direct message hyping him up with a simple, “Let’s go.” Jackson said that support meant a lot, especially given how hard he worked to get it right in just one 12-hour filming day.
Could This Be the Start of a New Career for Jackson?
Jackson has hinted that this might not be his last time on screen. While football remains his top priority—he just came off a stellar season with 4,172 passing yards, 915 rushing yards, and 45 total touchdowns—he’s open to more acting in the future.
He’s already an entrepreneur off the field, with ventures including a soul food restaurant, a clothing line (Era 8), a production company, and a record label. Now acting may be added to that list as a potential post-NFL path.
What Fans Can Expect Next From ‘Raising Kanan’ and Jackson
The series ‘Power Book III: Raising Kanan’ is known for surprising cameos and gritty storylines. Jackson’s performance as E-Tone raised the stakes heading into the finale. While it’s unclear if his character will return in Season 5, his appearance left an impression that fans won’t forget.

Whether E-Tone is a one-time role or the start of a recurring part, one thing’s certain—Lamar Jackson’s off-field talents are just as headline-worthy as his on-field dominance.
