Devs could only have access to Switch 2 64GB cards for physical editions

We may finally know the reason why third-party publishers are resorting to the famous Switch 2 key cards, which only feature a license to download the full title.
Not long ago, the Japanese firm Arc System Works was the victim of a computer attack that ended up on quite a great deal of data being stolen, and some was even published on the Internet. This tells us that Nintendo offers its partners only three alternatives for publishing their games on the console.
- Game in digital format
- 64 GB cartridge with complete game
- Game key card
Unlike the Switch, which offered 8 and 16 GB cards, the Switch 2 is limited to 64 GB with no other options. This may be considered too expensive by studios and publishers, who are therefore turning to key cards, which are undoubtedly much less costly.
Finally, internal data from Arc System Works also states that the Switch 2 was originally scheduled for release in March 2025.
