*Peacock has unveiled the official trailer for Season 2 of “Twisted Metal”, offering fans a first look at the explosive new chapter of the video game-inspired series. The high-octane season, led by Anthony Mackie as John Doe and Stephanie Beatriz as Quiet, kicks off July 31 with a three-episode premiere, followed by weekly Thursday releases through August 28.

This time around, the stakes are higher than ever as John and Quiet enter the notorious Twisted Metal tournament—a brutal demolition derby where the last one standing wins a single, life-changing wish. But with sixteen deadly drivers, each chasing their own desperate dreams, survival won’t come easy.

“Season 2 is a fast-paced, hysterical, thrilling season with unforgettable characters,” the official synopsis teases. “It’s too bad not all of them will survive.”

The new season introduces fresh faces and fan-favorite characters from the beloved video game franchise, including Anthony Carrigan as the mysterious and menacing tournament host Calypso, and Michael James Shaw as Axel, a classic character fans have long awaited. Returning to cause chaos is the terrifying clown Sweet Tooth, voiced by Will Arnett and physically portrayed by Joe Seanoa (aka Samoa Joe).

Following shocking revelations in the Season 1 finale, John and Quiet must not only battle new and familiar foes—Sweet Tooth among them—but also confront personal demons. For John, that means coming face-to-face with his long-lost sister, the masked vigilante Dollface, adding emotional weight to the mayhem.

“Twisted Metal” is executive produced by Michael Jonathan Smith, who also serves as showrunner and writer. Additional executive producers include Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, Anthony Mackie, Will Arnett, Marc Forman, Jason Spire, Grant Dekernion, Peter Principato, and representatives from PlayStation Productions, including Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan, and Hermen Hulst.

The series is a joint production between Sony Pictures Television, PlayStation Productions, and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group. Directors for the new season include Phil Sgriccia, Bill Benz, Iain MacDonald, and Bertie Ellwood.
