*Colorado Buffaloes head football coach Deion Sanders is making strides in his recovery from an undisclosed medical condition, according to a recent update from his son, Deion Sanders Jr.

In a YouTube video posted on Saturday, Sanders was seen fishing at his Texas estate alongside former Colorado star and current Jacksonville Jaguars rookie Travis Hunter. The footage captured a positive moment in Sanders’ ongoing health journey, with Deion Jr. noting, “It’s a beautiful thing. Coach Prime back active, moving around. God is great. Not back active moving around, but it’s progress.”

The 57-year-old coach has been absent from his coaching duties in Boulder since April. While Sanders has not disclosed specific details about his condition, he previously faced serious health challenges due to blood clots in his legs.

His current health issue appears significant, as he revealed on a May podcast with former NFL cornerback Asante Samuel, “What I’m dealing with right now is at (a) whole nother level.” Sanders also mentioned losing approximately 14 pounds during this period but expressed confidence in his recovery, stating he is “coming back.”

In the YouTube video, Sanders appeared upbeat, encouraging Hunter from a boat on a lake. “Bring him out,” he called out. “C’mon T. Hunter. There you go. T. Hunter!” The lighthearted moment offered a glimpse of Sanders’ improving condition, though no timeline has been provided for his return to Colorado.

Deion Jr. addressed this uncertainty in a recent livestream, saying, “When we get back to Boulder, I don’t know. I’m waiting until my dad leaves. When he leaves, then I’ll go. Until then, I’m going to sit here with him.” He added that his father was “feeling well” but indicated that Sanders would share more details about his health challenges in due time, noting, “He’ll tell y’all soon enough what he’s going through, what he went through.”

On June 11, Sanders took to social media to reassure fans, writing, “everything is OKAY” and promising a full update upon his return to Colorado. He expressed enthusiasm about rejoining his team, stating, “I’m excited to get back to Colorado to be at home with my staff, team & all associated to our program.”

For now, Sanders remains at his Texas estate, focusing on his health while his return to coaching duties remains uncertain.
