DDG has filed for visitation to see his son Halo in Italy after his ex, Halle Bailey, was previously granted temporary sole custody of the 18-month-old son they share after accusing the rapper of abuse.
Court documents show that the rapper recently requested permission from a Los Angeles judge to travel to Italy at the end of the month, so he can visit the couple’s 18-month-old son. Bailey was granted temporary sole custody earlier this spring after accusing DDG of physical and emotional abuse.
At a hearing before Judge Latrice A.G. Byrdsong, DDG’s attorney, Larry Bakman, suggested that the child’s paternal grandmother supervise visits.
Bailey’s lawyer, Jeremy Lane, objected, arguing the grandmother has allegedly “enabled” DDG’s past conduct. The judge ultimately agreed that visits abroad are “reasonable,” but ruled they must be overseen by a neutral professional monitor and barred DDG from sharing any photos of Halo on social media during the trip.
Both legal teams are now working to secure an approved monitor ahead of a follow-up court date set for Thursday, June 26.
