This week, CD Projekt RED gave us some fresh news about Cyberpunk 2. The game recently entered pre-production and there are 96 developers working on the game.
Michał Nowakowski, CEO of the Polish firm, was asked about the launch window for the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077. During the company’s financial results conference call, he was asked whether Cyberpunk 2 would follow the model of The Witcher 4, which entered pre-production in 2022 and is scheduled for release in 2027.
Remaining vague, Nowakowski pointed out that between the time a game goes into pre-production and its launch, an average of four to five years elapses. But, "many variables" can change this, and the main interested party was unwilling to give a precise year.
So, if all goes well, Cyberpunk 2 could land in 2029 or 2030.
