Console sales fall for fourth consecutive month in the U.S.

According to Circana data, hardware sales fell by 8% in April 2025 compared with the previous year, marking a fourth consecutive month of decline.
In value terms, they fell from $203 million to $186 million, the lowest monthly level since July 2020. Year-to-date, the decline is 28% compared with 2024.
By platform, PlayStation continues to lead sales in units and value, although its results fell by 5% in April. Nintendo sales fell by 37%, but the release of the Switch 2 in June should reverse the trend. Xbox, meanwhile, posted an 8% increase in value.
Accessories were also down 2% on the month, to $166 million. Since January, this segment has lost 13%.
