The 2025 Emmys has officially found its host.
On Monday, the Television Academy announced that comedian Nate Bargatze will be making his award show hosting debut as the emcee for the 77th Emmy Awards when it airs live on Sept. 14.
The 46-year-old stand-up star will take over the reins from father-son duo Dan and Eugene Levy, who helmed last September’s ceremony.
“It’s a huge honor to be asked to host such an iconic awards show and I’m beyond excited to work with CBS to create a night that can be enjoyed by families around the world,” Bargatze said in a press release.

“Nate is one of the hottest comics in the business with a remarkable and hilarious brand of comedy that deeply resonates with multi-generational audiences around the globe,” added Television Academy chair Cris Abrego. “We are thrilled to be able to leverage his one-of-a-kind perspective to entertain TV fans watching this year’s Emmy telecast.”
While the event will mark Bargatze’s hosting debut, the Grammy-nominated comedian is no stranger to an awards stage. He has previously drawn laughs while presenting at the 2022 Grammys and, more recently, at this year’s Golden Globes. He has also hosted Saturday Night Live twice.
Although Emmy nominations won’t be officially announced until July 15, Entertainment Weekly has already forecasted which actors will likely appear on this year’s ballot.
That includes lead actresses like Matlock’s Kathy Bates (Matlock), Bella Ramsey (The Last of Us), and Melanie Lynskey (Yellowjackets), as well as lead actors Noah Wyle (The Pitt), Adam Scott (Severance), and Sterling K. Brown (Paradise).
The event, which honors the best in television each year, is set to be held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Viewers will be able to watch the star-studded ceremony on CBS or livestream it on Paramount+ on Sunday, Sept. 14 starting at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET.
