Keke Palmer’s Podcast Episode with Jonathan Majors Removed Amid Backlash

*Keke Palmer is facing a wave of backlash after news emerged that she had recorded a podcast episode with actor Jonathan Majors, who was convicted in 2023 of misdemeanor assault and harassment against his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari.
He was scheduled for an April 8 episode titled “No Easy Answers: Accountability and Moving Forward with Jonathan Majors” on her Wondery podcast Baby, This Is Keke Palmer. However, the episode vanished from release pages, replaced by an interview with rapper Kash Doll without explanation.
Majors, currently on what many are calling a “redemption tour” amid the fallout from his conviction, had begun promoting his film “Magazine Dreams” through a series of carefully curated interviews. These appearances have largely avoided direct discussion of the abuse case, with Majors focusing instead on personal growth, spirituality, and vague nods to accountability.
A short promotional clip from the Palmer’s podcast episode shows the two playing a lighthearted game of “This or That,” where Majors chooses “owning the past” over “rewriting the future.” When Palmer asks him to elaborate, he responds cautiously: “Are we taking it personally?” Palmer assures him it’s more about his “concept around time,” and the moment passes without addressing the allegations directly.
The episode’s disappearance has sparked even more criticism, particularly from those who found Palmer’s platforming of Majors troubling, given her history as a survivor of domestic abuse, publicly disclosed during a 2023 custody dispute with the father of her son. Critics also resurfaced her past defense of R. Kelly, questioning her alignment with controversial figures.

“She keeps aligning with problematic men,” one social media user commented. Another pointed out that Majors’ so-called redemption arc has been notably centered on Black women’s platforms, despite his dating history, which previously included only white women before his relationship with actress Meagan Good.
Supporters of Palmer argue that her podcast has always aimed to explore themes of personal growth. But for many, the absence of true accountability from Majors has made his inclusion difficult to justify. As one critic put it: “The thing about Keke giving Majors a platform on the basis of accountability is… he hasn’t ever taken accountability.”
