Call of Duty: Warzone has been a hit since the return of Verdansk and may slow down on collaborations

Warzone players have been able to return to the famous Verdansk map since April 3. Activision was betting big on this return, which could well weigh on the free-to-play game’s future.

According to X insider TheGhostofHope, the American publisher is delighted with the number of players who have returned to the game. The update’s performance has even exceeded internal expectations. Sales figures for Call of Duty: Warzone on Xbox and PlayStation are said to be simply "exceptional". And better still, sales of Black Ops 6 are back on the rise.

Finally, Activision is reported to have decided to slow down the pace of microtransactions, bundles and skins . The company acknowledges that collaborations are financially important, but hears critics who say that Warzone is starting to look "stupid" because of the crossovers. Indeed, skins like the Ninja Turtles don’t fit in with the game’s universe at all.
