NVIDIA confirms that the RTX 5080 has also been affected by the missing ROPs problems

NVIDIA has updated its press release, adding the GeForce RTX 5080 to the list of boards affected by a problem of missing ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines). This defect, already found on the RTX 5090 and 5070 Ti, is due to a production anomaly affecting 0.5% of cards.
According to NVIDIA, the problem affects the following boards:
- RTX 5090: 168 ROPs instead of 176
- RTX 5080: 104 ROPs instead of 112
- RTX 5070 Ti: 88 ROPs instead of 96
The company states that the average impact on graphics performance is 4%, with no impact on artificial intelligence workloads.
