Popular Nestle cereal recalled after rogue ingredient causes ‘choking hazard’ | News UK
A popular Nestle cereal has been recalled over fears customers may choke after a rogue ingredient was found.
Nestle’s Frosted Shreddies have been recalled after the company found 14 specific batches may contain a hard piece of sugar.
Customers who bought either a 500g batch or a set of 40g boxes have been told they will be issued a refund over the ‘hazardous’ ingredient.
The following 500g boxes are affected:
- 42850952 (expiry date 07/2025)
- 42860952 (expiry date 07/2025)
- 42870952 (expiry date 07/2025)
- 42880952 (expiry date 07/2025)
- 42890952 (expiry date 07/2025)
- 42900952 (expiry date 07/2025)
The following 40g boxes are also affected:
- 42913451 (expiry date 06/2025)
- 42923451 (expiry date 06/2025)
- 42933451 (expiry date 06/2025)
- 43173451 (expiry date 07/2025)
- 43183451 (expiry date 07/2025)
- 43193451 (expiry date 07/2025)
- 43203451 (expiry date 07/2025)
- 43233451 (expiry date 07/2025)
Customers have been told they only need to send a picture of their batch code at the top of the pack and send it to Nestle to get their money back.
Nestle said: ‘Safety and quality is our first priority and we apologise for the inconvenience caused.’
The Food Standards Agency said: ‘If you have bought any of the above products do not eat them.
‘Instead return them to the store from where they were bought for a full refund. Alternatively, you can contact Nestlé at https://www.nestle-cereals.com/uk/contact.’;
