Build A Rocket Boy casts doubt on Everywhere's future

The future of Everywhere seems more uncertain than ever. What should have been Build A Rocket Boy’s first game, and the social hub for the studio’s future experiences, has gradually faded away.

From now on, it’s MindsEye that is being put in the spotlight by Leslie Benzies’ studio. The action game that was to be included in Everywhere has taken over some of its social mechanics, leting players create their own missions and then share them online.

This creation tool, called Arcadia, was originally designed for Everywhere before being ported to MindsEye. A spokesperson for Build A Rocket Boy acknowledged the change and cast doubt on the future of Everywhere.

"As with all new products, things evolve. Originally, Arcadia was envisioned as our creative platform, but as we developed MindsEye and built the BARB ecosystem, it naturally evolved into something more focused: Play.MindsEye and Build.MindsEye."

"It’s about three seamlessly interconnected experiences: an explosive action-adventure campaign, Play.MindsEye, a continuous stream of premium content developed by the studios, and Build.MindsEye for creating your own games."

So, MindsEye seems to have absorbed the ideas of Everywhere. That said, the studio has not made the cancellation official.
